About AussieCalc
A small set of fast, free calculators for the numbers Australians deal with most often.
Why this site exists
Most online calculators are built for the US market and awkwardly relabelled for Australia. AussieCalc starts from Australian rules: a 10% GST, state-by-state transfer duty brackets, and AUD formatting throughout.
How the calculators work
Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. The page loads a small JavaScript bundle, the rate tables are included in the page, and the calculation happens on your device. No amount you enter is transmitted to a server.
Where the rates come from
Stamp duty brackets are taken from the relevant state revenue office, and GST from the Australian Taxation Office. Each calculator page links to its source and shows the data version.
| Calculator | Source |
|---|---|
| GST | Australian Taxation Office |
| NSW stamp duty | Revenue NSW |
| VIC stamp duty | State Revenue Office Victoria |
| QLD stamp duty | Queensland Revenue Office |
Update schedule
Australian rates and thresholds typically change on 1 July. The current data version is 26 October 2026, and this page is the canonical record of what the site is using.
What we deliberately leave out
First home buyer and home concessions, foreign purchaser surcharges, off-the-plan rules and other exemptions or concessions are excluded. They depend on eligibility tests that a simple calculator cannot reliably determine, and a wrong answer is worse than no answer.
